Dorchester man convicted of brutal murder of wife

A Suffolk Superior Court jury today convicted Nile J. Reavis, 42, of first-degree murder in the Nov. 2, 2006 death of his wife Sandra.

Suffolk County prosecutors charged Reavis used "the biggest kitchen knife he could find" to stab his wife, Sandra, six times while she slept early on Nov. 2 of that year. When she woke up and tried to fight back, Reavis started beating her. As she lay dying, he told her: "You're not going to cheat on me anymore."

Reavis will be sentenced on Monday; he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.

One got picked for a routine criminal case. The other was on the jury panel for this case -- but _didn't_ get picked as a juror.
