Teenager sought for fatal King Arthur's shooting

Fat JesseUPDATE: Camacho was captured in Mexico City on 10/30.

A beefy East Boston teen with a lengthy record of violence is being sought for the triple shooting that left one dead at King Arthur's Lounge in Chelsea last week.

Jesse "Fat Jesse" Camacho, 19, is wanted for the murder of Jeff Santiago of Everett and two counts of armed assault with intent to murder for shooting the other two men. Not surprisingly, Camacho has gone into hiding; the Suffolk County DA's office held a press conference this afternoon to seek the public's help in finding him. DA Dan Conley said:

Our investigation has revealed that a verbal altercation between two small groups of men erupted inside King Arthur's shortly after midnight. Within moments, that verbal altercation escalated to physical violence between the two groups. During that clash, Camacho produced a black handgun from his waistband and fired it multiple times, striking three victims: a 29-year-old Everett man believed to be part of the victim's party, a 41-year-old Charlestown resident who worked at the establishment, and Mr. Santiago.

Camacho is also known as "Baby Jay" and "Syke." He's between 5'5" and 5"7" and weighs about 280 pounds. Officials described him as armed and dangerous; the Globe details his violent record.

One wonders if Chelsea officials might also be investigating how a 19-year-old wound up in a bar after midnight.

The first thing they should do is revoke Mr. Camacho's gun permit so he can't use any firearms in future crimes.

Do you have reason to believe his firearm was legal?

Is to reply to every single post about violence with some gun-control-related crack.

question

By bostnkid | Thu, 01/31/2008 - 12:33pm

isnt most crack under some form of gun control?

According to the linked article...

According to the linked article:

Camacho pleaded guilty in Boston Juvenile Court in January 2006 to three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm. He admitted to pulling the trigger in a drive-by shooting on Everett Avenue in Chelsea on Jan. 6, 2005. Camacho used a handgun to shoot at three teenagers, none of whom was hit.

So we're talking about a:

  • teenager (underaged)
  • with a prior involving illegal firearm
  • and that prior was an (admitted) drive-by shooting

That means, Camacho will never be able to possess a legal gun permit in Massachusetts. It's already very hard for adults with perfectly clean records to get them, in case they have to defend their homes and families from the likes of "Fat Jesse" Camacho.

Does Weebs understand that?

Other side of the gun nut.

Weebs sounds like an anti-gun nut. You sound like a gun nut for responding to him. Are you okay with that?

I was being facetious about the permit thing.

Every time a story like this is posted it only confirms the idiocy of the Commonwealth's onerous gun laws and the restrictions on law-abiding citizens' Constitutional rights.

Confirming idiocy

Comments just more evidence that the NAAUF needs to step in and prevent further discrimination here.
