The Globe reports eight flights at Logan Saturday and Sunday were delayed as airport crews tried to capture a poodle that had gotten loose and managed to evade Massport crews and State Police for 17 hours.
You beat me to it...but I had a nice terrorism angle. See, apparently all you've got to do is be a poodle and come into Logan after dark, because despite throwing billions in dollars at national airport security, they still don't have flashlights at Logan.
Did it occur to these rocket scientists to enlist a little help from Boston animal control? Or would that upset their precious little juris-my-diction?
Sometimes it isn't the owner's fault, either. I experienced a delay in one airport where a large dog had been in a large carrier and the ramp rats busted the kennel somehow. The dog wan't in the owners possession at the time.
I was posting about this at the same time that Adam (and everyone else?) was.
To me, the most remarkable aspect of the story, and one that Adam didn't comment on, is that the Globe coverage was good. The article included the lovely phrase "tiny white fugitive," it had a compelling and appropriate headline. In fact, I was driven to note that some of the people who work at the Globe can write!
My version of the story is at: http://changingway.org/2008/10/27/if-we-obsess-abo...

Just another way ...
Just another way that dogs and their owners are ruining things for the rest of us.
don't blame the dogs
