Could Kiss 108, Jam'n 94.5 be the next radio stations to make cuts?

John Gorman reports general managers at radio stations owned by Clear Channel - such as WXKS and WJMN - have been summoned to Dallas to be told how to cut their budgets. Clear Channel is now owned by Bain Capital Partners, LLC and Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P., both based here in Boston.

I always thought "Clear Channel" would be a great brand name for laxatives. Ironic that Clear Channel should be so full of--

Heh heh...maybe that's why they're doing such a good job cleaning house at their radio stations.

Not much else left to cut

Kiss does not have a live midday host, and I guarantee you that night jock Deirdre Dagata is not a full-time employee, so they're not paying her any bennies.

Only airstaff that's full time are Matty, Billy and Romeo. You can't draw blood from a stone.

Why cut?

Hmmm. What's the need for cuts?? IF I turn to the stations, all I seem to hear are commercials. These corporate owners seem to ruin every station they touch, and then wonder what went wrong...
