Hey, buddy, don't you know things get caught in escalators?

Boston Police report arresting a Melrose man on charges he got on the down escalator at the Boylston Street Filene's Basement yesterday afternoon, then took off his pants and took a leak:
It should be noted that the store was full of customers, some of whom were children when the suspect engaged in this behavior.
But the escalator was so slow that by the time he got to the bottom, they were adults?
Leonard J. Daigneault, 51, of Melrose was charged with open and gross lewdness.
Innocent, etc.

Are they adults now?
Had to snicker when I read this ... must have grown those tots up right quick to see that spectacle!
Or were the police intentionally dangling their participles too?
He Was Confused
Back when Filene's Basement could be entered from the Downtown Crossing T station, I'd usually notice that one of the stairwells from the street to the station reeked of a urine-like odor.
I don't recall ever noticing that at other T stations, so perhaps Filene's Basement has some special attraction. :)
