Maybe don't let anybody in your house to check the pipes in your basement without an appointment

Boston Police report two incidents this week in Hyde Park of people getting robbed by a team of crooks masquerading as BWSC workers.

Police say one of them rings the front door, shows fake BWSC ID and asks the homeowner to take him downstairs to check the pipes. While the homeowner is doing that, a second guy walks in the door and starts stealing stuff, such as cash and jewelery.

In the most recent incident, police say, the guy showed a bogus BWSC ID with the name of "Michael Campbell." Police describe "Campbell" as a white guy, mid to late 40s, stocky build, wearing dark glasses, blue jeans and a long-sleeve T-shirt and carrying a toolbox.

If such persons come to your door, contact 911 and let the Boston Police respond to the location to verify their identity.
