Dorchester man with violent record charged with teen's murder

Boston Police report charging Marques Kersey, 20, with the gunshot death of Torey Evans in Dorchester in January.

Evans was found with multiple gunshot wounds at Gallivan Boulevard and Patterson Street around 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 16.

Police say they obtained an arrest warrant against Kersey in Dorchester District Court today. Kersey was already in the Norfolk County jail in Dedham on an unrelated charge, police say.

Just three days after the murder, Quincy Police arrested Kersey and three accomplices on charges they were driving around Quincy with a sub-machine gun, a handgun with a silencer, brass knuckles and OxyContin pills.

In 2008, Kersey was one of six men arrested in a South Boston apartment on various gun-related charges, including armed assault with intent to rob.

Innocent, etc.
