My grandmother was American-born Lebanese (there's actually a great book based the community she grew up in and some of my family even makes it into the book). So, while I was going to BU, I would often get lunch from the Trolley and chat with Diana, Nadim (husband), and Sarkis (father). It was the closest I could get to my grandmother's and mother's cooking on such a regular basis.

Another Lebanese lunch trolley with a permanent location that just turned 30 is Sami's Wrap n' Roll over at Longwood and Louis Pasteur. I don't know them as well, but my friend who works at HMS does, and the food is also great there too when I visit him for lunch.

Sure, there are better Lebanese restaurants, but both the Trolley and Sami's are convenient, good to eat, great value, and run by some of the nicest people.

Disclaimer: I have no personal involvement (money or otherwise) with the book I linked to, but the author is also a really great guy who just wanted to tell the story of his family and some of mine.

Good food cheap and the owner is very friendly.

If you're a regular that is friendly, he will hook you up as often happens at these local joints.
