16WadeSt reports these Cambridge firefighters took the T from Kendall to Central this evening.

So that's why
on a Cambridge-bound Red Line train this evening at about 6:25 when they announced "delay due to firefighter action at Kendall". Train then proceeded with only the usual stops and starts to Harvard. Maybe a drill?
No! Don't let them on!
If we start letting the firefighters ride the T, they'll get the wrong idea about work ethic in civil service. Next thing you know:
Civilian: Help! My house is on fire! Stop!
Fire truck: Don't worry! There's another fire truck directly behind us.
