What's the deal with Bruce Wall and the police?

During the Charles Stuart case, police seemed to go out of their way to go after young black men (at least, until they discovered that Stuart had murdered his wife all by himself). Are there any allegations the police are harassing young black men now as they investigate crimes? I ask because the Rev. Bruce Wall has taken to interfering with the police investigation of the Codman Square triple shooting - going so far as to tell a potential witness not to talk to police. Why?

... Wall said if police want to talk to the young man about last night's shootings, they can contact the pastor first. ...

Carpundit: Boston's "community activist" is a disgrace.

So, will he be arrested for actively interfering in a police investigation?

There isn't enough information in the Herald article to pass judgement on Wall. Perhaps there might be a concern about the witness's 5th amendment rights? Perhaps he was concerened about the witness's identity being discussed in the press, allowing for the "stop snitchin" crowd to terrorize yet another witness? I am not saying Wall's actions are right. But I am guessing that due to his past and present vocations and his roots in the community in which the violence is occuring, he is acting in earnest. Let's take a step back, let more facts come out and get to the bottom of the 'why' behind Wall's action.

The sad thing is that the "why" seems pretty apparent to me; the guy wants attention, he thrives on attention, and now the police or City Hall need to kneel before him to speak to the appropriate people. Everything I read about him makes me want to stick him in a box and mail him to Antarctica, or maybe a deserted island in the Pacific. As long as he keeps yapping, it's going to be difficult to get to the true roots of the violence in Boston.

wall is an absolute disgrace. he is obviously jealous that reverends dickerson and rivers recieve a great deal of attention from the media and the police and is attempting to steal his share of the spotlight by not allowing a witness to be interviewed by the police. the only way he gets funding for his "programs" is through media attention, and obviously he is willing to sacrifice the well being of his neighborhood to make his car payment and pay his mortgage. he has always struck me as a poser, and more about bruce wall than the community - this just confirms it.

Bruce Wall is a good guy and genuinely concerned with what's going on in the streets. I wouldn't read too much into this snapshot coverage. I'm pretty sure it will pan out as a misunderstanding.
