On the death of a pet

Betsy takes the family dog to the vet for the last time:
... I feel very sad about having to make this decision. But I do also feel I made the right decision. Marianne trusted me to take care of her, to protect her, to love her. And she was right to trust me, because I did all those things.
I miss you, Marianne.

Sorry to hear about the death of your dog, Betsy.
Yet, I understand that a pet sometimes reaches a stage where putting him/her to sleep is the most loving thing one can do for a loving, loyal pet. It must've been painful, even though it was the right decision. Again--sorry to hear about it. Take care, and all the best.
