Confusing Cambridge streets

Blah-di-Blog reports:

... I was walking to a friends house today lookng for her house number when suddenly the odds and evens jumped sides of the street, skipped about 50 numbers, and started going down instead of going up. ...

Ed. note: This is more of a Massachusetts thing than a Cambridge thing - How many Washington streets does Boston have again?

Back in my cub-reporter days, I once wrote about the two 2 Pleasant streets in Natick. 2 Pleasant St. in South Natick was some company that made equipment for biological researchers (things such as rat decapitators, i.e., rodent guillotines, and rat emulsifiers, i.e., rodent blenders). 2 Pleasant St. in the Felchville neighborhood was the home of this poor elderly couple whose bell was forever being rung by delivery guys with lab equipment (they once came home to find an industrial refrigerator on their front lawn).
