Boston Police say West Roxbury residents could help end a recent spate of car break-ins by locking their car doors when they go inside:

Might seem obvious but you'd be surprised at how many people don't lock house/car doors. Lots of them are just careless or forgetful, or they developed their habits during a more trusting time. (Although when *that* was, I have no idea--I got trained to lock doors when I was a kid in suburban NJ in the 1970s.)
