Wow, looks like the Mattapan trolleys really are coming back

Actually, the MBTA has been good to its word before this. It was shut down before, less than 10 years ago. The cars - which were green for a while- were restored to their original orange color. The T has kept its word before to keep the antique line going, even though its hard to find parts and maintain them. That's a good thing- and the T should do it. This line is unique and a good thing for the neighborhood. Theres a great bike trail right next to the line and the whole area is benefiting from the investments.
Both Mattapan and Ashmont stations are getting modernized right now and the Fairmount commuter rail is too. For a long time, our neighborhood got the short end on T projects. It took alot of work from activists too who stayed in the neighborhood and lobbied hard to get them to do the right things. Thank goodness now we have some leaders who are now keeping the heat on the T to follow through with the promises.
