A Brockton man is charged with raping a woman he picked up as an Uber driver early Wednesday and then, after she fled his car, following her and raping her again.
Authorities did not say where the alleged attacks took place, but Michael Vedrine, 32, was arraigned today in Dorchester Municipal Court, which hears cases for Dorchester and Mattapan. Read more.

Boston Police report a man and a woman were shot around 12:05 a.m. at 6 Dudley Terrace, off Dudley Street.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene; the woman was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say.
The man is Dorchester's tenth murder victim this year.
