Boston Police report they are investigating a string of housebreaks from Ashmont to the Southeast Expressway between Friday and today.

In all cases, the thieves got nothing, either because they were confronted by homeowners or because they broke into empty units, police say.

The Dorchester Reporter reports an armed robbery on Newhall Street Saturday night was just around the corner from where a man was shot to death and not far from another armed robbery on Ashmont Street.
