Our own eeka and family checked in this evening from Stoughton, where the checkout lines stretched to infinity and people were worrying they'd get out alive by 8 p.m. closing time today. With only four registers open (originally five, but the store shut one), she reports her wait, so far, has been about 70 minutes and that some people were getting trays of dinner and coming back to the line with them.

Stoughton IKEA evacuated

Mark Logan reports the Stoughton IKEA was ordered evacuated around 6 p.m.

"Security issue" We've been instructed to get on our cars and leave.

Mats, a native Swede, reports Ikea did an excellent job with its crayfish buffet:

... You'd think it would just be a bunch of Swedes and their better, American, halves who'd go to a Swedish-style crayfish party, but there were all kinds of people there. Go figure: Crayfish eating is as important to Swedes as to Louisianians. Decembercrat notes a two-day crayfish festival at everybody's favorite Swedish furniture store in Stoughton (today and tomorrow), although with a caveat about how smelly one's hands get after eating the things:

... Is IKEA prepared for the sheer number of Kryps and Kelig Grodas they'll have to take out of stock after they've been groped by smelly-fingered children and put back because ew, their parents don't want those smelly things in their house? ...
