The man who loved turkey

Noternie reports that by Sunday, the turkey was running low, so his wife went out and bought a 15-pound turkey so they could continue to feast on turkey and stuffing. As of this afternoon, he's downed 14 turkey sandwiches, 2 turkey dinners and a turkey pie. Guess what's for dinner tonight?

Tryptophan does not work that way. Turkey does not actually contain significantly more tryptophan than other meats, and eating large quantities of turkey isn't a particularly efficient way to get tryptophan to the brain. The bigger factor is that when you eat thanksgiving dinner, you're eating a LOT of food, and that in particular aside from the turkey you're eating a lot of carbohydrates, and that is what makes people sleepy. Continually eating turkey sandwiches for days on end doesn't really have the same effect.

I like my cigar, too, but I take it out of my mouth once in a while.

The neighbor's dogs sweep into the kitchen and it's Chinese food tonight.
