So many Hong Kong memories...
Okay, memories no so much.
My first "legal" drink was at the Hong Kong in Harvard Square (any way you look at it. They started serving me about 10:30pm the night before my birthday, so the drink I was holding at midnight magically became legal. Go figure). By the time I was going to the Hong Kong in FH often I was too snooty to partake in the test-tube drinks, but I will always remember the place fondly (in a "so glad I never got arrested there" sort of way). I hope it wasn't too badly damaged!
thank god!!
It didnt end up like the tai ho fire!! Was it the grease in the duct work that caused it!!
This is what I read at
This is what I read at another news site
"Firefighters said the fire, which was caused by an electrical short circuit, began on the ceiling of the first floor and quickly spread to the walls and across the building."
This is sooo sad..this place is such a nice and friendly hotspot in Boston. It will be greatly missed.
Fuel to the fire
Considering the amounts of sugary sweet alcohol and mixers in the place, it's a wonder that it was only three alarms...
The Hong Kong today
What you can't see is all the glass on the sidewalk right in front, from where the firefighters knocked out the second-floor windows. Also, smells like smoke when you stand right in front.
omg
ohh no! soo many fond memories of this place! i hope they open soon!
