Cops bust alleged scalper outside Fenway Park

Here's a tip: Don't hold a sign outside a Sox/Yankees games. Cops tend to notice things like that. Especially if the sign reads "I need tickets!" when you're actually selling them ($100 for a ticket with a face value of $47).

"StubHub" or "Ace Tickets" he wouldn't have been arrested.

BPD actually arrested a scalper? I guess he wasn't part of the club.

They actually nabbed someone for that? I've seen cops standing near guys yelling about buying tickets. Guess you only get in trouble if they see you actually exchange money.

exchange money in order to prove that the seller was taking more than the face value of the ticket?

The City selectively enforces scalping laws. If they were serious, the ticket agents would be shut down, and we could afford to attend games.

Jim Holzman of Ace Tickets has half the State House in his pocket. This little pimp has been laughing in the face of the anti-scalping law in this state for years, due to an alleged loophole that allows licensed ticket brokers to charge you for "service charges"?

That guy has been at Boylston and Ipswich for years. He must have overcharged some cop.

These guys know where they can go and can't go. And most of the known scalpers business is done over the phone first, and then someone meets them up to exchange tickets. All the cops know them, and all the scalpers know what to do so they don't get arrested.

Make no mistake about it, there is a game going on there that the cops and scalpers have to play, but I would bet my life this wasn't about a cop that got overcharged.
