Dorchester man charged with murder at Roxbury liquor store

A Dorchester man who lost a fight inside a Roxbury liquor store waited outside until the winner emerged and then stabbed him to death, Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office charge.

Boston Police report arresting Tajuan Holloman, 39, for the murder of Thomas Whitley outside the Dearborn Liquor Store on Dearborn Street on Nov. 6.

According to the Suffolk DA's office, Holloman - who himself was shot repeatedly and nearly killed in Roxbury in 1992 - had gotten into an argument that turned physical with Whitley inside the store. Whitley, the DA reports, inflicted a beating on Holloman, whom he knew before the fight.

Holloman left the store, [Assistant District Attorney David] Deakin said, but waited and paced outside while Whitley and a younger relative remained inside. When those two finished shopping and left the store, prosecutors allege, Holloman stabbed Whitley, causing life-threatening injuries. He collapsed a short distance away. Holloman allegedly fled the scene on foot.

Holloman was arrested yesterday. He was ordered held without bail at his arraignment today in Roxbury District Court, the DA's office says.

Innocent, etc..
