Local Doc's Do What They Can to Help in Haiti: Fond Parisien

For some of us the earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12th is still fresh in our minds. Although the stories have fallen off the main pages of many major media sources, the immediate needs for assistance are still very real. As the United States pledges relief and the international community rallies to continue support hundreds of local volunteers still give all that they can on the ground in Haiti in largely unheard of areas.

Boston resident Hilarie Cranmer, MD along with her colleague Stephanie Rosborugh, MD from Harvard were some of the first responders in the days after the earthquake. Seasoned humanitarian crisis responders, Dr's Cranmer and Rosborough were able to assess the immediate needs on the grounds and foresee that rehabilitative camps would need to be quickly established for those recovering from massive injuries who were now homeless. Within an incredibly short period of time the Fond Parisien Disaster Recovery Center was up and running. Now, this site is in desperate need of financial assistance.
