Chinese 'street food' to replace Taiwanese takeout in Roslindale

Seven Star Street

A take-out place that says it will recreate the "street food" found in Chinese cities is hoping to open by the end of January in the Belgrade Avenue space formerly occupied by Roslindale's only Taiwanese restaurant.

You can already take a look at Seven Star Street bistro's menu, which, unlike all the other takeout places in the area, does not go on and on and on (you can also make suggestions on the impending eatery's Facebook page).

Maybe 7 will prove a lucky number, since this will be the seventh Chinese take-out place to set up shop at the address.

Reading the "About" page, it seems that the this new place is the creation of the son of the proprietors of the late, lamented Seven Star Mandarin House in Newton Centre. Hope he has the family magic.

That would be great. Seven Stars in Newton Centre was my favorite Chinese food restaurant for years!!! That would be a real coup.
