A fire that broke out around 12:45 p.m. at China Sky, Gallivan Boulevard and Adams Street, went to two alarms. It was brought under control within 45 minutes.

The Boston Fire Department reports the fire was in a vent heading to the roof, probably about the last thing Boston firefighters want to hear at a Chinese restaurant. Damage was estimated at $100,000.

Does . . .

Favorite Spot, Years Back

When I lived in Dorchester, used to frequent The Sky often following concerts and other late-night happenings. They served the sort of hearty Americanized Chinese food that soaked up (or, at least, gave the illusion of soaking up) gallons of alcohol.
