Prez praises JP teacher after meeting him, only he never actually met him

The story about budget cuts being the cause of pink slips is a fabrication - there have been no budget cuts since Mr. Baroz got here- not to the school budget or to the overall budget. This is the budget cycle every year:

1) Pass the budget miraculously in June, but project fiscal armageddon a year out
2) Declare Armageddon is upon us in January (using last year's projection)as a propaganda tool to get new taxes passed
3) Declare victory over the budget through the hard work of the mayor and the council (when in reality they "find" tens of millions in new revenue they misplaced even without new taxes) again in June and redeclare Armageddon for the following year
4) Realize throughout the year that revenues miraculously come in tens of millions higher than the budget and use those to supplement overtime not in the budget
5) When the actual number comes out in October(tens of millions higher than the budget which is tens of millions higher than the original armageddon forecast) highlight that the city just barely broke even, not mentioning that OT was handed out like party favors during the year.

Rinse wash repeat literally for every one of the past 9-10 years
