Is the History of Deval Patrick's rise to Governor Repeating with Don Berwick?
In '06, Mass Dems were splintered, unsure. Deval Patrick came out of nowhere and filled the void. History repeating with Berwick?? #mapoli

Democratic candidates for governor Treasurer Steven Grossman, Attorney General Martha Coakley, and former Medicare chief Donald M. Berwick qualified for the Sept. 9 primary ballot, party chairman Thomas M. McGee announced this evening at the state party convention.
Steve Grossman beat Martha Coakley with 35% of the vote. Don Berwick came within 52 votes of beating her, too.
Two terrific candidates, Julliette Kayyem and Joe Avellone did not make the cut -- 15% of the vote.
The Boston Globe article provides information about the others races-- Lieutenant Governor, Treasurer and Attorney General- who won a spot on the primary ballot, who received the party's endorsement and who did not make the cut.
