Man charged with fatal stabbing that ended with body dumped in the street in Roxbury

Richarson Robert, 34, was ordered held without bail today at his arraignment on a charge of first-degree murder for the Jan. 26 death of Charles Floyd.

Robert was arrested Friday - after being stopped for speeding in Watertown - the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Floyd's body was found on Shetland Street during a snowstorm.

The DA's office provides this account:

Floyd’s body was discovered by members of a snow removal crew in the area of Shetland Street in Roxbury during the first major snowstorm of the year on Jan. 26. An autopsy revealed that he had been stabbed 14 times.

Alongside Floyd’s body, Boston Police also discovered a plastic bag containing a cell phone. An investigation revealed that Robert purchased the phone a short time before the murder and used it to make a single phone call to the victim, prosecutors said. Additional evidence, including surveillance video and witness statements, place Robert in the area at the time of the fatal stabbing.

Innocent, etc.
