Landmark Dudley Square store to close

The Bay State Banner reports the impending demise of A Nubian Notion, not because of gentrification or anything like that, but because the generation of the family running the place is all at retirement age and all their kids decided to go into different careers.

[edit: The soap and the store both have "Nubian" in their name, the store sells the soap, but I don't think they're the manufacturer, and I'm sure the soap will continue to be available elsewhere. It really is pretty awesome soap, in any case.]

Worker co-op?
One option that often gets overlooked is having the employees form a worker co-op to buy the business and keep it going. There are organizations that can help with the transition. It may not be too late!

Good for the kids. Their family(s) worked hard to allow them the choice to do something different with their lives.
