Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center CEO made news this spring when he sought employee help in making cuts to reduce the number of layoffs. Now, he reports, he asked the staff what to do should hospital finances continue to improve. Based on their advice, and if the upward trends continue, the hospital will restore pay increases on April 1.

Fluid situation on the Green Line

The MBTA says the outbound E is stopping at Brigham Circle because of "fluid on the tracks" on South Huntington. MBTA Transit Police report it's diesel fuel, which affects the trolleys' traction and makes it harder for them to start. Also, there's a train that doesn't want to move at Government Center, causing what the T says are 10-25 minutesdelays.

Dog no longer fit for fighting dumped in Hyde Park woods to die

Wicked Local Walpole reports on "Turtle," a badly injured pit bull found abandoned and near death along Turtle Pond Parkway in Stony Brook Reservation:

"She was in pretty bad shape," said Lt. Alan Borgal of the Animal Rescue League, explaining dog fighters often discard animals that are excessively injured.

Roslindale Square bank robbed, but not a Sovereign branch

Boston Police tweet the Citizens Bank branch, 777 South St., was held up early this afternoon by a white guy with a beard and a scally cap who fled on foot. There is no Sovereign Bank branch in Roslindale Square.
