The FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force continues to look for a woman they say was stymied in her attempt to rob the Webster Bank branch at 25 Stuart St. on Dec. 23.

Prevailing sentiment in progressive haunts is “2016, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.” Between a stressful election season, acts of terror, and the crisis in Syria, many of us will be glad to see the calendar page turn on Sunday night. Still, to every cloud there is a silver lining, and at least when it comes to tackling climate change in the US, Massachusetts was a bright spot amidst the clouds of 2016.

Boston Police report that when an Uber driver arrived at 600 Washington St., near a Chinatown T-stop exit, to pick up a passenger around 3 a.m. on Monday, five people got in his vehicle and one punched him in the face. He was transported to a nearby hospital with a concussion.

Smoke and carbon monoxide from drenched manholes at Washington and Kneeland streets started filling some basement buildings around the intersection of Washington, Stuart and Kneeland streets around 9 a.m. Firefighters evacuated the HI Boston Hostel at 19 Stuart St. due to high carbon-monoxide readings.

Adam Cheung recalls growing up in Chinatown, where Thanksgiving was celebrated in part because it was the one day of the year restaurant workers tended to have off.

I think one time at Kwong Kow we had a potluck before Thanksgiving and my mother made Mash Potatoes. The Chinese kids devoured it so fast and all the leftovers were these intricate Chinese dishes. My mother thought that was kind of strange. But the thing is, When you eat home cooked Chinese food everyday and you grow up in America you start to crave the mainstream American food.

A doorman at Cure Lounge, 246 Tremont St., was stabbed in the back, head, shoulder and hand early on Aug. 25 by a man upset he'd been tossed out of the club for being too disruptive, police, club officials and the doorman himself told the Boston Licensing Board this morning. Read more.

Boston Police report a man wielded a knife and a cane in an attack on two other men around midnight on Oct. 7 on Beach Street.

Both victims were taken to Mass. General for treatment.
