It's voluntary manslaughter for fatal stabbing at South Boston bar

A Suffolk Superior Court jury today convicted Bernard Piscopo of Dorchester of voluntary manslaughter for the death of Adam Rich of Revere at the 6 House on June 16, 2007, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Piscopo will be sentenced tomorrow.

Prosecutors charged an argument over a spilled beer escalated into a brawl in which Rich, 26, and a friend were stabbed. Prosecutors say Rich was ordered out of the bar after a fistfight with a friend of Rich's and then:

A short time later, Rich re-entered the bar and is believed to have punched Piscopo in the face, knocking him off his feet. Piscopo allegedly rose to his feet, knife in hand, and closed the distance between himself and Rich. In the moments that followed, Piscopo allegedly stabbed Rich multiple times in the back, chest, stomach, legs, and hand. Piscopo also allegedly stabbed Browne three times in the back and shoulders as well before fleeing out the back door.

I am not making this up. This guy beat me up when we were in first grade. Neighborhood troublemaker all the way back in 1976. I can still see him getting mad in fifth grade on a field trip at Fenway when the Sox weren't winning.

Who are you talking about, Rich or Piscopo? Just curious. A lot of people called Rich a thug always looking for a fight, but it seemed just as many defended him.

Seeing how the court found that he got into a fight, got kicked out, came back in and punched Piscopo in the face; I'd say he was a tool looking for a fight.

Don't forget, Rich was also said to have gotten kick out of both waterworks and a house party earlier for causing trouble.

This time he picked the wrong lanky looking guy. Can't say I'm sad, but this is what happens when two boneheads find each other.

Piscipo. Everyone knows him as Beau, not Bernard, even teachers at St. Mark's called him Beau, except one or two nuns. His family used to operate a corner shop at the intersection of Dorchester Avenue and Parkman Street called Beau's Place in the late 80's.
