From a MassDOT camera. Updated every 20 seconds or so.

For the uninitiated on MassDOT cameras, a minor clarification
is in order. If you read the little 'direction' icons underneath the camera image, you'll note that, in this case, the Exit 9 camera is currently facing east. Therefore, the brake lights are of traffic coming off I-84 eastbound entering the Pike toll plaza, and not traffic exiting the Pike waiting to go through the tolls to head to I-84 west.
On the day before Thanksgiving, the Sturbridge tolls are normally set up so that the majority of the booths handle westbound traffic coming off the Pike. While this increases the backup for eastbound traffic from I-84, it actually speeds up the flow of traffic exiting the Pike to I-84.
I point this out because I'm sure many looking at this image might otherwise assume the heavy traffic is coming off the Pike and not I-84. Plus the fact that the camera is labeled "I-90 MassPike at I-84 ramp Charlton" on the MassDOT site, which isn't exactly the most accurate description of the location.

Isn't there a James Taylor song about this?
"The first of December was covered with snow
And so was the Turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston" - from Sweet Baby James - James Taylor
Let me tell you about the town of Stockbridge Massachusetts
It's got two po-lice officers and one po-lice car.
Oh hey look! There's my car!
