Wellington: Where Orange Line trains go to die
By adamg on Tue, 12/15/2009 - 10:07am
The T reports 20-25 minute delays on the Orange Line this morning due to a dead train near Wellington. At least it's not the brand-new signaling system this time.
For what it's worth, I just had a trouble-free ride from Forest Hills to State. South Orange Line represents!

Forest Hills -- can I get a
Forest Hills -- can I get a "what what?"
What what?
Um, what?
Just joining in the praises
Just joining in the praises of our never-breaks-down train station.
Also, I want them to film a version of "The Hills" over here. I think it would be much more interesting than the other one.
but the metro printed a press
but the metro printed a press release/article today that the T had the shortest delays in years! Of course, if you read the fine print, these were only delays caused by reduced speed. The delays caused by signal problems, disabaled trains (like the ones T workers should have been working on when they were watching movies and video games as the globe reported today) or those demon wet leaves were not counted in the Ts self assessment the metro so glowingly reported.
Lucky You
Now if they could just put some of those nice cars on the North branch, maybe people waiting at Wellington and Sullivan wouldn't have to wait for three trains to come through before they can squish into a packed car.
Um, er,
when did they start using separate equipment on the other side of the river? We aren't discussing commuter rail, here!
I know, I know
All I'm saying is that while the T was reporting 25-minute delays up around Wellington, I was getting from Forest Hills to downtown lickety-spllit.
Also, as long as we're comparing north and south, ever notice how the terminal names are so similar? You could call 'em Oak Hills and Forest Grove and they'd still sound just as good.
And don't get me started
And don't get me started about Stony Brook!
Oh come on
We need a nice "OMG, can you believe what this guy had to put up with?" story! Please?
Just wait until they build the new stop..
You will have to wait even more!!! Somerville officials want a new stop between Wellington and Sullivan. Wait for 3 trains. Try 5 after the new station is built.
