Der Spiegel interviews a Harvard professor who thinks we're nearing the point where we could implant Neanderthal DNA in a human egg. Of course, that would take a woman willing to carry a Neanderthal to term. Actually, several women, because what's the point of growing just one?
No, you would certainly have to create a cohort, so they would have some sense of identity. They could maybe even create a new neo-Neanderthal culture and become a political force.

Insert obvious Republican joke here:
"They could maybe even create a new neo-Neanderthal culture and become a political force."
This is too easy...
You mean this doesn't already exist?
Neanderthal Culture
It isn't what you think it is.
From what little we know, they were apparently egalitarian with regard to gender, and didn't seem to do a lot of warring.
So, maybe Cro-Magnons are guilty of both projection and are the violent ones? hmmmm ...
As a Neander-American ...
As a Neander-American, I fully support a political party. For too long our concerns have been overlooked:
* Can't find "Breathe-right" strips to fit our noses.
* Public parks have baseball and soccer fields, but no mastodon-hunting fields.
* Can't make open fires in the office to gather around.
* Animal pelts only come in "Small" and "Medium"
* No one's explained how tiny tiny people get into machine called "phone"
* Not enough jobs in the TSA to hire us all.
