Everett man charged with fatal stabbing under the Expressway last month

Christopher W. Powell, 39, will be arraigned on a murder charge tomorrow for the stabbing death of a South End resident under the Southeast Expressway on Feb. 25, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

The DA's office says Corey Thompson, 44, died after Powell stabbed him during an argument under the highway where East Berkeley Street crosses into South Boston.

Powell is scheduled for arraignment tomorrow in Boston Municipal Court, the DA's office says.

Innocent, etc.

Did these two men know each other? What were they doing in such a location? When I first heard this story, I presumed they were homeless, which they weren't. The man killed worked at a Newbury St. hair salon. I'm not saying he deserved to be murdered. Just curious about the motive, and why it's not been published or discussed.
