Drive in the river.
car/boat on a trailer at Savin Hill Yacht Club a few weeks back.
About 20 years ago - it is called an "amphicar".
It had an MA vanity plate: BOATH
It's Newbury St., not Newberry.
DYAC!
Amphicar is a brand name and they didn't make a model like that. They made a little convertible
BRILLIANT IDEA! Fill in the Charles River for a 12 lane expressway. The right of way is already there for the taking!
We already did it with the South Bay. So why not?
That's basically what they did for Storrow Drive in 1950 and 1951.
The body lines on that thing look like a mid-late 90s Chevy Blazer. Which has been slightly customized, of course.
Not as cool as the Mini Cooper that patrols the Charles during the Head of the Charles Regatta.
Amphi-Cooper!
Erin Doherty snapped this Amphicar on Huntington Avenue last week, reports at least one Duck Boat driver owns one (no word if he uses it for personal tours).
