Pizza place to replace pizza place that replaced Albanian place that replaced burger place that replaced Albanian place in Roslindale

Sameh Alla goes before the Boston Licensing Board on Wednesday for permission to open Rustica Pizza at 146 Belgrade Ave., across from Seven Stars.

Rustica, which already has its sign up, would replace Prime Time Pizza, which replaced Arbri Cafe, which replaced Boston Brickhouse, which replaced Cafe Apollonia.

Alla is seeking hours of 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. for his pizzeria, which would remain the only pizza place on Belgrade Avenue, at least until something happens to the old MJ's near the West Roxbury line.

I have a running joke with my friends that we should start Cranky Old Townie Restaurant Reviews, where we only refer to restaurants by the name of their prior business. For example, I spent a year calling Sticky Rice on Centre Street "that Thai place where Shwarma King used to be." I think you would be an excellent contributor, Adam.

My siblings and I named all the Chinese restaurants by their proximity to other places. There was China St Theresa's , China Holy Name, China Skating Rink and China Temple Emeth.

But it took me a second to figure out what you meant. Then I realized, oh, yeah, that place, over by Cheryl-Ann's at Putterham :-).

I don't know what to call Seven Stars. Maybe China St. Nectarios?? Or China Fallon Field.

Of course, the Seven Stars location has had even more changes than the pizza place across the street (I still remember when it was, briefly, Roslindale's only Vietnamese place).

I got pregnant right around when MJs closed. I'm due in a couple weeks -it has taken longer to open a pizza shop then to grow a human being. They missed out on so much money from me and my food cravings.
