Woman on way to church hit and killed crossing Dedham street

Dedham Police report they are investigating whether solar glare contributed to a crash this morning that left an elderly Dedham woman dying in her church's parking lot.

According to police, Anne McIntyre, 70, was crossing High Street shortly before 7 a.m. to get to mass at St. Mary's Church, 420 High St.. "She was struck by a 2013 Nissan Frontier pickup truck driven by a 25-year-old Boston man."

McIntyre was rushed to Norwood Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the man stopped immediately and called 911. He was himself taken to a local hospital due to his emotional distress, police say.

Police say he has not been charged and that they are looking at whether solar glare played a role in the collision. In a statement, Police Chief Michael J. d'Entremont said:

This appears to be a tragic accident, which took the life of a local resident. We will conduct a thorough investigation, and the Dedham Police Department asks members of the media to please respect the privacy and grief of Mrs. McIntyre's family.

Wow! Definitely Italian. Google is behind the times, pope-wise.

More insensitive anti-catholic remarks at this blog. A poor woman going to church killed. What's the Latin is for "I have nothing better to do but be a low life?"

Indeed ! Your man puts up an article about a poor soul killed in a church parking lot, may she rest in peace , and the pented up maliciousness finds an outlet to vent. Perhaps someone in the the poor woman's family might view this site, and see the insensitivity of some of the comments. Regardless of whatever religion or beliefs a person subscribes to , this tragedy calls for empathy, or at least silence if you can't come up with a respectable comment. Again,

Requiem Aeternam dona eis, Domine
R. et lux perpetua luceat eis:
Requiescant in pace.

..when there's no class" as Tip O'Neill often suggested.

I'm not religious but it sure looked like you were offering up Last Rites to me, an elevation of the usual mawkish mess that floats through the comment stream.

Be well and thanks, as ever.

... a real estate agent would go out of his way to be so obnoxious in a public forum. I can't imagine that this a great way to drum up business.

Thanks for providing the full text of the Greek and Latin prayer.
