Some people might not be waking up on time in JP

Word reaches us that part of Jamaica Plain, like Moss Hill, is without power this morning. Eversource reports 417 customers with no electricity in Boston.

Native JP proletariat have no need for clocks as
they define the lives of the bourgeois.
Nyet, comrade.
Clocks are an affectation of the lumpenproletariat, slaves to the factories that open their doors sharply at 9AM to transform the labor of the people into wealth and excess for the capitalists. Let us overthrow their tyrannical yokes, and banish the clocks back to the pig-dogs in West Roxbury! Eversource has joined us in our glorious revolution!
In this era of modern technology
it's very interesting to note that alarm clocks STILL do not have any sort of memory backup to account for power failures and the like.
Hmmm
The one on my phone seems to work just fine when the power goes out. Granted, I do use a home alarm clock as well, but that's just the final alarm, which means I have to go across the room to turn it off. The phone alarms are like my "warning".
In this era of modern technology
Many alarm clocks actually do have a backup to account for power failures. It's called a battery. For decades, it's been possible to get electric clocks with battery back-up - 2 AA cells, no fuss.
Shopped for an alarm clock lately?
I've found that suprisingly few of them, especially alarms that are part of clock radios, have a battery backup feature. When the power goes out, even for a minute or two, they totally lose their memory.
I've *never* seen a digital
I've *never* seen a digital alarm clock that didn't have a battery backup.
Many only use it to remember the time in case the power comes back before your wake-up time. But some can beep using the battery.
no problem bud, i did some research for you
most targets carry a selection of alarm clocks, i checked and they're even in stock in many of the local ones. i didn't look in any wal-marts i admit but i'd be absolutely shocked if they didn't carry them.
if getting to a target or walmart is difficult, amazon has literally multiple thousands you can choose from. sometimes you can even get same day shipping from amazon.
also re: alarm clocks without battery backup- its more common than you probably think. there are some very cheap alarm clocks out there. if you've never seen one without, i'd say you just aren't looking out for it, or perhaps shop at fancier alarm clock stores than i.
though i will admit that an alarm cloth without battery backup is both not very useful and certainly less desirable
that being said, if you require a dedicated alarm clock that would be an excellent way to re-purpose an old cell phone.
I just looked on Target's
I just looked on Target's website. The first 10 under-$20 alarm clocks I saw *all* had a battery backup, or were totally battery powered.
So now it's back in your court: show us some proof of an alarm clock with no battery backup. I don't think they exist.
