Back Bay to get Best Buy

To replace the Virgin Megastore. So presumably the people paying $3 million for a condo in that building won't even have to get wet when they get the urge to buy a Playstation 3.

Not too "upscale," if you ask me
Sure they sell expensive products, but does Best Buy really count as a "high-end amenity," like the developers claimed to want?
By the way, does this mean Best Buy will close its nearby Fenway store?
And, what will this mean to Newbury Comics? Will it spur pricing competition or just drive them out of business?
Certainly seems less "high-end" than Virgin Megastore
Less interesting, less distinctive, less unusual, less of a destination (since there are Best Buys all over the suburbs). Why the building owner pushed Virgin out for this, I don't get.
Maybe it'll have doormen
Like that new Filene's Basement.
do people go to newbury
do people go to newbury street to by plasma screens and appliances? this seems like an odd fit to me..... are they going to deliver? is there an underground tunnel to the garage across the street?
oh and i doubt newbury is very concerned. if they could still fill their niche with virgin in that space, they will have no trouble against best-buy's increasingly walmart-esque catalog.
