I wondered why there were tableaus of creepy children in the City Hall lobby.
I realize now that they're part of a cherished tradition, but they're still kind of creepy, in that "they're fine in the daylight but I'd hate to be locked in here with them" kind of way.

There is another Enchanted Village tableau on the lower mezzanine. It features a hurdy-gurdy player and a shoeshine boy, among others. This tableau plays hurdy-gurdy Christmas music. I feel deeply for the City workers who have to listen to it all. day. long.

Hey, can you see if my favorite one is there?
It's the kid with the yarmulke getting a haircut. Every time I saw him, I thought, "what's he doing there?"
Didn't see him, because if I
Didn't see him, because if I had, I'd still be laughing. There's the kids in the band and the big sister reading to her younger siblings.
I did, however, see CBS4 here getting ready to do something involving filming, so I'm guessing there will be a blurb on tonight's news.
