By adamg on Mon, 08/24/2009 - 12:47pm
Boston Police report the man who had his head smashed in outside the 33 Club early Friday morning has died. Jose Alicea of Hyde Park was 22.
Police have charged 12 men found in a limo outside the club with assault and battery resulting in serious bodily injuries. The dozen men, all in red tuxedos at the time, were due to be arraigned today; police say they are working with the Suffolk County District Attorney's office on possible new charges now that Alicea has died.

$100,000 bail for ten of the twelve
Bail was set at $100,000 today for most of the defendants in Boston Municipal Court, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
Bail for one man was set at $200,000 because he gave authorities a fake name while the remaining guy was ordered held because his bail on an outstanding drug-trafficking charge was revoked, the DA's office says. All are due back in court on Sept. 4.
More from the DA
From a press release from the DA's office. Flashner is Assistant District Attorney Cory Flashner.

Way to celebrate a friend's funeral
Kill someone else in their honor.
Sigh.
red bow ties + bloods
now it makes sense
Shouldn't that read "Victim
Shouldn't that read "Victim of alleged red-vest mob"?
Or maybe "Alleged victim of alleged red-vest mob"?
Interview with Alicea's sister
The Globe talks to her, along with Licensing Board Chairman Daniel Pokaski, who doesn't think the murder should be tied to the bar.
Lynn + motorcycle accident funeral = Hell's Angels?
Weird style of garb for a funeral for someone who died in a motorcycle accident.
Wasn't Lynn home to the local chapter of Hell's Angels?
Pokaski is right - the bar can't be held accountable for this - thugs are thugs no matter where they go, but you can't exclude people dressed up in "tuxes," can you?
hells angels dont wear tuxedos
these guys were not H.A.
