Police: Craigslist ad leads to armed robbery, not the iPhone sale victims had expected
Boston Police report a man who arranged via Craiglist to buy an iPhone instead found himself - and his friend - robbed by two men at gunpoint.
At the direction of the "seller," the two soon-to-be victims drove to 58 Cedar St. in Roxbury around 6:30 p.m. yesterday. They sat there for about 20 minutes, police say, when two men walked up:
The victims stated the suspect#1 was carrying a backpack and opened the bag. The victim stated to officers there was nothing inside of it and suspect #2 gestured to his waist band and stated, "You don't want to get popped." The victim stated to officers he observed what appeared to be a firearm.
The victim stated that he gave the suspect an undetermined amount of money. The victims stated the suspects fled the area towards Highland Street.
