When I was growing up in different locations in "Mass.", we called it "hamburg" when it was just ground beef.When it was in a patty we called it a "hamburgah."What would "regular people ;)" call it?Well, "hamburger" whether it's in a patty or ground beef.
It's hamburg in the store before making a patty...then it is a hamburger...though my husband is from KY and he insist it is hamburger or ground beef and puns me all the time for saying it "wrong".
