Police arrest two for robbery rampage

Boston Police report arresting two men last night following a pair of armed holdups on Mission Hill and in the South End and say they expect to charge them with at least three more armed robberies in recent days.

Police say they nabbed Christopher Rivera, 20, of Stoughton and Anthony Ruiz, 19, of Boston outside Back Bay station last night, after "numerous citizens assisted officers by pointing in the direction of travel of the suspects."

Police say the boys' night out began around 9:30 p.m. on Parker Street on Mission Hill, when they allegedly approached a guy walking down the street:

One of the individuals stated, "Hey you ... stop". The victim was then surrounded and one of the suspects displayed a black handgun and stated, "Give us your stuff". The other suspect proceeded to go through the victim's pockets and removed his wallet, money and cellular phone. They also demanded that the victim remove his watch and hand it over to them.

About an hour later, police say, they held up another guy at gunpoint on Durham Street in the South End:

The suspects then took the victim's money and cellular phone before fleeing on foot towards the train station. A search of the suspects produced an amount of currency, a Black air-pistol handgun, a T-mobile phone, a Motorola Q-phone, a Blackberry Pearl phone, a Silver Ipod and a Silver Fossil watch.

Innocent, etc.
