It's no longer time to Stop & Shop, at least for him

Brian Kane reports he was too grossed out by the produce department at the Woburn Stop & Shop to ever go back:

... Containers of strawberries with visible mold. Rotten and rapidly decaying tomatoes and onions. Withered and spoiled green beans. This store is literally selling garbage and calling it "fresh produce". ...

I've had the same experience. I found strawberries with mold on them on two separate occasions at the new Stop & Shop in the South Bay Mall in Dorchester. After that information he provided about the suppliers and quality control, I might start reconsidering where I'll be shopping.

Produce spoils very quickly.

Produce spoils very quickly. I've seen strawberries with visible mold at every major supermarket and some small local (to me) produce stores. Chill out. Pharmeceutical companies charge big bucks for that mold!
