Not a time for blood sport
Let's hope that people will leave this family alone for a while for whatever it takes for her to get better. I know it is hard, on the political side of things, for folks not to still hold him to the standard expected of a governor; but I like to believe that people in the state are compassionate and will give the family some personal space, while being properly supportive and caring.

This is their attempt to deflect criticism and garner sympathy by shifting blame to a drug or a disease. It didn't work well for Kramer, Mel Gibson, or Patrick Kennedy so why should we give her a pass? Everyone gets stressed. Mrs. Patrick is a state employee and should be held to standards.

Stress is not the same as depression. Depression is a disease. Alcoholism is also a disease.
I'm not aware that Mrs. Patrick insulted an entire race or religion and blamed it on an illness, so I'm thinking your analogy falls down right there.
