Jury had declared itself deadlocked yesterday in the case of Jason Meeks, charged with the first-degree murder of Alvaro Sanders in 2001. Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley says he will seek a new trial.
Meeks's sister, LaDawn Hicks, faces witness intimidation charges for allegedly convincing a witness in the case not to show up in court.
In other Dorchester court news, Kenneth Hall, 47, was sentenced to up to four years in prison for giving a 12-year-old girl a camera cellphone so she could send him nude pictures of herself.
