Somebody's Ducati is all over the Green Line tracks at Harvard and Comm. Seek alternate route. Front wheel tucked under the chassis. I think it's unlikely that the rider's OK. Say a prayer or think a good thought or two.

The Jamaica Plain Gazette reports MassDOT has decided to go with a wider New Washington Street and reconfigured intersections rather than a new overpass when it tears down the current crumbling Casey Overpass in a $52-million redo.

MassBike reports MassDOT has picked a design for the renovation of the Longfellow that features just one vehicle lane outbound and wider lanes for bicyclists and pedestrians in both directions.

A concerned citizen tries to help out tourists and other infrequent visitors to the Franklin Park Zoo who might get a sudden yen for animals while puttering around the Back Bay:

This sign at the int. of Beacon and Arlington directs drivers straight down Beacon St to the Franklin Park Zoo. This is bad advice by the city since drivers will hit a lot of unnecessary red lights. The fastest way if you ask most people is a left onto Arlington, left onto Herald, and down the X-way to Columbia Rd.

Michael Moura reports on an incident around 1:15 this morning on Storrow Drive eastbound by the pedestrian crossing at Dartmouth Street. The victim was taken to Tufts Medical Center in serious condition:

It is unclear at this time whether it was a medical condition, suicide attempt, or was physically pushed off.

The Jamaica Plain Gazette reports the state Department of Transportation failed to announce what it plans to do about the Casey Overpass by its own deadline this week and now says it doesn't know when it will.

The Newton Licensing Board says Chestnut Hill already has enough liquor stores and so rejected a request from the Star Market there to begin offering beer and wine, Wicked Local Newton reports.

Boston Police report the woman, struck at Chestnut Hill Avenue and Washington Street around 6 p.m. yesterday, has died. The crash remains under investigation; no charges have been issued.

Mike posts a report and photos of the aftermath of a rollover at 1504 Dorchester Ave. in Fields Corner that required the use of the Jaws of Life to get the driver out and which left a parked car and several light poles heavily damaged.

The people who want to keep the Casey Overpass say the space under a new overpass could become a marvelous cultural gathering spot instead of remaining the dreary collection of parking spaces and muggers' hiding spots that it has been for the last 50 years.

Boston Police report that a routine traffic stop of a driver who turned without signalling turned into an arrest for weapons and drug charges Friday night.

Police say one thing led to another and before long they were placing Dexter Winnie, 22, of Dorchester under arrest at School and Bradlee streets on charges of illegal possession of brass knuckles and a knife and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school. He was also issued a citation for failure to signal.
