The Globe has started Override Central, a blog to keep track of Proposition 2 1/2 override efforts across eastern Massachusetts.

Somebody might find this funny, I suppose.

Is there one? The Blue Mass. Boys wonder if their copy got lost in the mail:

... I don't know what to talk about if I don't hear from Deval's flacks. I wander around confused and listless, not knowing what to say to make people really, really like Deval again. ...

Carpundit reports that whoever was driving the car with the SENATE 1 plates really should learn how to drive in a winter storm:

The sanest perhaps, but not the only one (need to know more? Of course you do).

Adam Reilly proves he reads both the Dig and the Herald: He notices the Dig ran the same Ray Flynn column on St. Patrick's Day as the Herald. Wonder if he got paid by both papers?

The Outraged Liberal analyzes the latest out of New Beford; concludes the feds know exactly how to time a staged raid; the new staties need to seriously get their act together and fast - except for DSS Commissioner Harry Spence and Patrick flack Nancy Fernandez Mills, who, he says, just need to resign.

At least, according to the Globe's paean to the new UMass-Lowell chancellor. Adam Reilly compares the Globe's soft touch with the Herald's slightly more critical take, which at least acknowledges that the other two candidates had slightly better academic credentials (in the sense that they actually have them).

I admit it: I was dubious about Eileen McNamara's first New Bedford column, in which she said state officials failed the immigrants, because her assertion those officials knew about the raid ahead of time was based on word from a federal flack, and how could we trust that?

AmberPaw worked as a volunteer today, doing Spanish interviews with some of the people arrested in New Bedford:

... Not one of the detainees I interviewed had any criminal history. All were working 48 hour weeks for $7.50 an hour. The saddest question was from a Guatemalan father, who had been working side-by-side with his 18 year old son. They were separated by the ICE raid, and he does not know where his son is. ...

Boston Police report two stabbings downtown early Saturday - one of them of a man stabbed while dancing inside the Roxy Nightclub on Tremont Street.

Given that Mayor Menino cited violence as a reason for new regulations barring 18+ events that end after 11 p.m., when can we expect a similar crackdown on all entertainment?

Jay Fitzgerald doesn't buy a Chicago Sun-Times report that ranks Massachusetts only 26th on a ranking of corruption, because the report is based largely on federal indictments and, well, when your federal officials are themselves corrupt, you don't tend to see as many corruption indictments.

Earlier in the week, Adam blogged about the Human Peace Symbol that was planned for Copley Square today.

Well, I took pictures of it today. Some from the ground, some from the conference room near my desk on the 48th floor of the Hancock Tower. You can see them all here.

Charley on the MTA writes:

... Regardless of your stance on illegal immigration, the stories of the feds' actions are really pretty repulsive -- splitting up families, separating a mom from her 7-month-old baby. Come on. There's got to be a better way to do this. ...

The Globe reports today that dissent erupted in the blogosphere over Deval Patrick's call on behalf of that mortgage company he used to work for, in an article about allegedly shellshocked Patrick supporters.
